Eco -Coolers - Innovative Technology (Suitable for Fresh or Salt Water)

Once again, Deltec have shown the way to reducing water temperature economically in the modern salt and fresh water aquarium.

The need of water movement and light to keep salt water invertebrates and fish requires pumps and lights creating heat in the water column which is not healthy for a stable aquarium environment and leads to coral bleaching and stressed fish.

Economical and Environmentally Friendly.

The ECO cooler is environmentally friendly and economical and can be used for both salt and fresh water aquariums.

The principle of the ECO cooler borrows its technology from water cooling towers used in industrial applications.

Water from the aquarium is forced to evaporate which draws latent heat from the water thus cooling it down.

Eco coolers are incredibly cheap to run and are much quieter than a refrigerant cooler.

For example - to achieve 950 watts of cooling.

Refrigerant - 570 watts of electricity.

Eco- cooler - 44 watts of electricity.

It is also possible to use the ECO cooler in conjunction with a refrigerant cooler, therefore, reducing the size of the electricity bill substantially and being secure in the knowledge that even on the very hottest days of the year the temperature in your aquarium will remain stable.

3 sizes are available

61050 - 700W cooling power - For tanks up to 600 litres.

61051 - 1000W cooling power - For tanks up to 1000 litres.

61052 - 1800W cooling power - For tanks up to 2000 litres.

Daniel Knop the well known aquarist and author runs an 8000lt system in the basement at his home in Germany.

Daniel fitted one of our biggest Eco coolers to his system which on our calculations is only specified for aquariums up to 2000 Ltrs.

Read here what Daniel Knop thinks of the ECO - Cooler.

Refrigerant Coolers

(Suitable for Fresh or Salt Water)

Deltec manufacture a range of larger coolers suitable for medium to large aquariums. They do not manufacture the low cost models that are currently being imported for smaller systems

When
ordering coolers, manufacturers generalise by stating "Suitable for aquariums of so many gallons", at Deltec we believe this to be very misleading. To enable you to compare various manufacturers prices and not to be confused, you should obtain the power consumption of the cooler and cooling wattage.

Gas - (134A)

As we use the latest refrigerant gas you can be assured that our coolers are technically efficient and environmentally friendly.

Digital Thermostatic Controls

You can also purchase our coolers WITH or WITHOUT digital thermostatic controls and for those purchasers who already have an IKS computer system they can use their IKS to control the cooler without the digital temperature controller.

Good Practice

It is good practice when installing a DK1400 cooler with IKS computer system to use a contactor which should be installed between the plug bar and the cooler.

Flows

It is important to have the correct water flow through the coolers and we have given you the best guidance notes that we can, however, for a cooler to work at its most efficient there should be between 1.0 to 1.5 degree temperature drop, as stated in our specification and it may be necessary to slow the water flow to the cooler to achieve this.

Guarantee Our heat exchangers are guaranteed for use in both salt and fresh water.
